Hi, love this pattern. But need assistance with the motif boarder. After making the adjustments needed to correct the problem with row 15 and 23 etc. regarding the fpdc lineup for the stem issue I was able to complete the motif section. After many tries I cannot end the round with 178 stitches. Top and Bottom rows equal 39 x 2 equal 78 and left and right 48 x 2 equal 96 sts and those equal 78 plus 96 is 174. I'm figuring that the other four stitches are related to the corners where you say add 3 sts in same stitch at each corner which I do, but after counting the stitches before going on to round two, I keep getting a different number. Can you PLEASE help me resolve this issue? I am at a frustrating end and really need help. Thanks and look forward to hearing from you.

I already have the yarn ready for this project. The color is so elegant and clean. It helps a lot that the pattern is right in front. Easy for crocheters.

I am doing row 21. Is that correct that it says repeat row 7? Using row 7 doesn't continue the lines gong up.

I do not understand what FDPC means and see no explaination of this abbreviation in the instructions. Would like to know before starting on this project. Thanks

Hi! Sanauwyn! Don't be frustratedThe pattern has a base of 39 stitches. Work single crochet for the first 6 rows. Make sure you follow the pattern and remember to skip the stitches behind the front post double crochet which is worked 2 rows below the top row, and also that each side of the block will have the same number of single crochet stitches. If, for example, you are instructed to begin row with 16, you will have 16 on the other side. As an example, on row 7, you will find on the last repeat, that the instructions say to single crochet in the next 3 stitches. If you add 3 plus 12. you will end the row with the 15 sc you began with. If you are not sure and end up with too many stitches, count each row. Will be 39 total! I hope this helps!

Hi slyas The stitch number will be if you remember to skip the sc behind the FPDC as directed in the pattern The FPDC takes the place of a single crochet on the top row so it will be counted in place of the skipped single crochet For instance on row sc in the first FPDC around the FPDC of the previous row skip the single crochet behind this stitch and sc in the next On your last repeat of the FPDC you skip the sc above on the top row then sc in the next sc If you add the sc to the final you get a total of sc which is what you began the row with That would be the sc in the pattern repeat FPDC for a total of stitches If you end up with I think it is from not skipping the sc on the top…Read More row Hope this is helpful

Hi! Diabob287! Make sure you are skipping the single crochet on the top row behind the FPDC. If you do not skip these stitches, you will end up with more than 39. Hope this helps!
