Southwestern Granny Square
The desert color scheme and geometric designs really fit the theme of this Southwestern Granny Square. Although it begins with the traditional magic circle, it shapes the center like a diamond, which is a nice reinterpretation of a classic granny square pattern. It builds outward from this with fun angles and colors, which will be challenging but not impossible with the helpful step-by-step photos included. The natural appeal of crochet works with this pattern so well, from the tight middle to the looser, more open edges. This free crochet pattern also gives you a chance to use the beautiful V-stitch.
