Gauge: 12 dc = 4”(10 cm), 7 rows = 4” (10 cm). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Throw measures 45” x 58” (114 x 147 cm)
THROW
With A, ch 5, join with slip st to form ring.
Row 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc and ch-1), 3 dc into ring, ch 1, dc into ring. Turn at end of this and all other rows unless otherwise specified.
Row 2: Ch 4, 3 dc into first ch-1 space, skip 3 dc, 3 dc in final ch-1 space, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of first ch-4.
Row 3: Ch 4, 3 dc into first ch-1 space, work 3 dc in between each set of 3 dc across, end 3 dc in final ch-1 space, ch 1, dc in 3rd ch of first ch-4.
Rows 4-5: Repeat Row 3. Fasten off.
Row 6: Join F, ch 3, 3 hdc in first space, work 3 hdc in between each set of 3 dc across, end 3 hdc in final space, ch 1, hdc in 3rd ch of first ch-4.
Rows 7-11: With B, repeat Row 3.
Row 12: With F, repeat Row 6.
Continue in pattern as established in colors as follows:
5 rows D, 1 row F, 5 rows C, 1 row F, 5 rows A, 1 row F, 5 rows B, 1 row F, 5 rows D, 1 row F, 5 rows C, 1 row F, 1 row A, 1 row E, 1 row A and 3 rows E.
Work 1 row F in dc (not hdc) AND mark each end of this row.

Next (decrease) row: Join E, ch 4, skip ch 1 space and first 3 dc, work 3 dc in between each set of 3 dc across, skip last ch-1 space, end dc in last space. Repeat decrease row in colors as follows:
2 more rows E, 1 row A, 1 row E, 1 row A, 1 row F (in hdc for this and all following F rows) **5 rows C, 1 row F, 5 rows D, ,1 row F 5 rows B, 1 row F, 5 rows A ** and 1 row F. Repeat between **‘s once, ending with 3 dc in A. Turn, ch 2, slip st in top of first dc (corner space). Fasten off.
Inner Border
Round 1: With right side facing, join B to ch-2 corner space just worked, ch 2, hdc in same space, *2 hdc in each space along edge to marked space at corner, 4 hdc in that space, ch 2, 4 hdc in first space along next side; repeat from * across to corner (beginning of diagonal piece), work (2 hdc, ch 2, 2 hdc) in corner; repeat from * along remaining 2 sides.Fasten off.
Round 2: Join A in any corner ch-2 space, ch 3, dc in same space, dc in between each hdc across, working (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in each corner ch-2 space, end 2 dc in first space, ch 2, slip st to top of first ch-3 to join. Fasten off.
Top and Bottom Borders

Row 1: With right side facing, join E into corner ch-2 space, ch 3, dc in same space, work (ch-1, skip dc, dc in next dc) across, end skip final dc, 2 dc in ch-2 space. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in between first 2 dc, work 2 dc in each ch-1 space across, end skip dc, work dc in final dc. Turn. Fasten off.
Row 3: Join F to first dc, ch 3, dc in between first 2 dc, work (ch 1, dc in space between each set of 2 dc) across to last 2 sts, end skip dc, dc in final dc. Turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, dc in between first 2 dc, work 2 dc in each ch-1 space across to last 2 sts, end skip dc, work dc in final dc. Turn. Fasten off.
Rows 5-6: With C, repeat Rows 3-4.

Side Borders

Row 1: With right side facing, join A to top of side edge of piece, ch 2, work 2 hdc on side of each row to first row of E, work 2 hdc in ch-2 space of main piece, then work dc in between each dc across side edge to next ch-2 space of main piece, work 2 hdc in ch-2 space, work in hdc to top of A. Fasten off. Do not turn.
Row 2: Join C to the beginning of row, ch 2 and work sc in each st across. Do not turn.
Row 3: Ch 2, work 1 row reverse sc across. Fasten off.
Outer Top and Bottom Borders

Row 1: With right side facing, join F to outer edge of C, ch 2, work hdc to first space before 2 dc, work dc in that space, work (hdc in first dc, dc in space between 2 dc) across, end work hdc to outer edge of C. Fasten off. Do not turn.
Row 2: Join B to beginning of row, *ch 6, sc in next st; repeat from * across. Fasten off.
