Crochet HookH/8 or 5 mm hook
Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)
Afghan measures approximately 40” x 60”.
MATERIALS
RED HEART® “Fiesta®”: 5 Skeins 6334 Buff.
Crochet Hook: 5mm [US H-8].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE:
12 sts = 4”; 4 rows = 4” in pattern.
CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Ch 115.
Row 1 (Right Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 113 sts.
Row 2: Ch 4, skip first dc; * skip next dc, tr in next 2 dc, with hook in front of last 2 tr made, tr in skipped dc enclosing the last 2 tr – crossed tr made; rep from * to last st; tr in top of ch-3; turn – 37 crossed tr.
Row 3: Ch 4, skip first tr, tr in next tr and in each tr across and in top of ch-4; turn.
Row 4: Ch 3, skip first tr, dc in next tr and in each tr across and in top of ch-4; turn. Rep Rows 2-4 19 more times, then rep Row 2 once more, then rep Row 4 once. Fasten off.
Edging-Rnd 1: With right side facing, attach yarn in any corner; ch 1, sc evenly around afghan, working 3 sc in each corner; join with a sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, sc in same sc as joining, * skip next sc, (sl st, ch 3, sc) all in next sc; rep from * around adjusting as necessary at corners and end of rnd. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
