- Large-eyed plastic canvas needle

Size: Throw measures 58” long x 47” wide (147.5 x 119.5 cm), including border
Gauge: 12 dc = 4” (10 cm) in pattern; 7 rows = 4” (10 cm), with smaller hook. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
Notes:
- Horizontal ro ws are worked with ch-1 spaces evenly set apart apart. Strips of chains are woven vertically through the chain spaces to complete the plaid motif. Border is added after strips are woven and secured.
- Blanket is worked with single strand of y arn; vertical strips of chains are worked with 2 strands of yarn held together.
- V ertical strips are woven in groups of 3 or 4. Refer to grid diagram as the weaving sequence differs in each group.
- T o change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color.

ASSEMBLY: Refer to diagram for weaving pattern. Read grids carefully as some strips will weave over and under the same chain spaces in neighboring rows; others will weave under and over to create an alternate pattern. With right side facing, using plastic needle (or just your fingers), and working from left to right in color sequence, weave chains vertically through chain spaces. Ease each strip in place and distribute the length evenly. Thread tail between loops of chain in last horizontal row and pull 1 ch of strip through loops. Repeat for other end.

Horizontal Edging Row (right side): *Ch 4, skip next 2 sts, sc in next st; repeat from * evenly across edge to last 2 sts, skip next st, sc in next st. Fasten off. Repeat for lower edge. With right side facing and smaller hook, join C with slip st to first ch-4 space at top right corner.
