I have also made a blanket for my full -size bed. For someone who has never crocheted a bed blanket or bedspread, it does take a few months to complete depending on how much time you can work on it every day. I like this pattern because of the multiple colors and the wavy effect.

I have made giant granny square blankets before and I like this because it is more of a bedspread. I like the color design of this because of the contrast between the bright colors and the light backgrounds. I do like the patterns from Purl Soho. They are very well written and come out looking great. Thank you.

I love working this type of project! The possibilities for various color combinations are endless. Its also so easy to vary the width of each color to suit your preferences. In addition, you can make the blanket as big or as small as you like without having to worry about ruining the look of the pattern. Its an easy, mindless type of work that results in a beautiful and useful afghan. Ive made several of this type from twin bed size to queen theyve all turned out great.

Love the color combination of this huge granny square blanket. Although I would like to sub the blues for purlple/lilac/violet shades or something bright to make a continuous pattern of bright colors beginning from the yellow the green. Wow now this is my kind of Granny Square! I love this Giant Granny Square Afghan pattern. I never got into making the granny squares because you have to make so many of them for a blanket. But this one is perfect, being just one large granny square. The directions are very well written and I've put this one on my to do list. Thank you so much for this free pattern.

I have made this but with regular worsted yarn. Actually I have made 3 of them for gifts. They were well received, fast to work up and nice looking. Now I will try one with the bulky yarn.
