I really love the colors used for this granny square. The pastel pink is a personal favorite! Plus, there's a video tutorial to show you exactly how to achieve the design.

Conservative and laid back choice of colors. Beautiful. Can be done in other colors that you fancy. Great as afghan, blanket, or bed spread. The possibilities are endless.

I love granny squares. They were the first things I learned to crochet over 50 years ago. After that I used them to make afghans, table runners, place mats, baby afghans and even purses. This one is so pretty, I want to make it in red, white and blue for a purse. Thank you.

I just tried to print this pattern and got 8 pages of nothing! and no pattern. Wasting my ink and paper must be a laugh to you!

Hello - We apologize for the misunderstanding. To get the pattern, click on the green link that reads "Click here for the free crochet pattern" which will take you here: http://www.topcrochetpatterns.com/crochet-patterns/granny-square/ornate-centre-granny-square?/free-crochet-patterns/ornate-centre-granny-square You can then download the pattern for the designer and print. Please let me know if you need further assistance. -Krista, Editor

I just wanted to add that when I used a certain browser all I got were blank pages. I think it was puffin and chrome some times does it. I don't know why, it just does. I now use safari and there's no problem. Just wanted to throw in a possibility. Just wanted to say also, if it didn't print, you didn't lose ink or paper.

I am always trying different granny squares. It is a good way to use up odd bits of yarn and you can join them in a blanket. I make blankets for charity and this way it never gets boring.

Maybe this website didn't have the right to use the photo / pattern for the granny square they're using to recruit subscribers! The REAL "Sophie's Garden" square, complete with free instructions, can be found here http//www.lookatwhatimade.net/

Hi KCMann, thank you for your comment. We did have permission from the designer of Sophie's Garden to post her pattern, however we received many complaints about re-naming that pattern. You can find Sophie's Garden on our site via this link: http://www.allfreecrochetafghanpatterns.com/Popular-Afghan-Projects/Sophies-Garden-Crochet-Blanket -- Editor of AllFreeCrochet.com

this link seems to have the wrong picture for "the most beautiful granny square ever"....it does not match the written description at all, nor the picture to get to the link

Whatever it is, it is gorgeous. Mandala's are the thing now but they are timeless. I gotta make at least one of these.

This is not a Granny Square, it is Sophie's Garden, and it's a mandala that is squared off. All squares are not grannies!

very delicate, beautiful choice of colors!!!!

She is credited, right at the top of the page next to the pattern name. You can link to her blog there too. There's a whole beautiful blanket based off this one square.

so lovely, it looks like a mandala.

it's called sophies garden and she has a CAL running atm, would have been nice of you to provide a link to the facebook group as well as her site ..... give Dedri the proper credit for such amazing work

A Mandela to make you smile...

yes Mandala was the first thought. Awesome

This is absolutely gorgeous! I will be making this soon.

Wow! Can't wait to make this!

Beautiful!!!!
