Summer in Swanage Crochet Afghan

Inspired by the beach huts of South Africa and mixed with some English flair, Summer in Swanage is a crochet afghan pattern that is worked in parts, with the beach huts and sandy triangles worked separately and then joined to the rest of the lazy waves. This crochet blanket is a fabulous summertime afghan that's fun and easy to make.

Easy

Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook, J/10 or 6 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Crochet Gauge14 stitches and 8 rows per 10 cm (4”) square

Finished Size120 cm x 150 cm (stretches to 170…because it’s heavy!)

Materials List

2 strands of Double Knit Yarn (#3) – I am using Scheepjes Colour Crafter
5.5 mm Clover Amour Crochet Hook (US 9/I UK 5)
6 mm Clover Amour crochet hook (US 10/J UK 4) for border only!
Yarn needle

Would you take a look at this summer swanage crochet afghan. I am finding it hard to believe that this level is considered easy. I have been looking for a project to complete for a neighbor and fortunately she has given me permission to make the final selection. I know she will be impressed.
