I've read all the comments in this thread. and I'm gonna give this a four star in the meantime based on the comments. I've also successfully downloaded the ebook. One thing I wanna do is to take a look at the instructions if indeed they aren't clear or what based on the comments. I'll get back to this as there are one or two designs here that I really want to do. Thanks.

The afghan I wanted to make was the Ripples of Happiness. These instructions don't make any sense to me at all. I do appreciate the willingness to make this book available for free - however, though some of the patterns are very detailed, some even coming with step by step instructions - this particular pattern, for me, is useless.

The triple treble crochet in UK is actually a US double crochet stitch The written instructions leave a lot to be desired for a new crocheter So ignore them and just use the chart The chart symbols are universal every crocheter around the world will make the same stitch even if they call it something else When I was a newer crocheter I tended to read instructions that are not there And I still must be careful to avoid this with a new stitch or stitch pattern This is actually very simple Do the sampler as recommended The initial chain turning chain is already included so don't over think it The peaks and valleys are made using of the chains repeated Different patterns can make them taller or shorter or varied Just do what the chart shows and the waviness will begin to be revealed after a couple to three rows…Read More At first it just looks like a mess If you are still having trouble watch a you tube demo for ripple afghans
