Easy Everyday Crochet Blanket
Tired of your old store bought crochet afghan? Work up your own creation with this Easy Everyday Crochet Blanket. It'll sit nicely on your bed when not in use and best of all is that it's an easy crochet pattern that's perfect for beginners.
Worked in different shades of gray and a vintage white color, you're sure to wow yourself with this crochet blanket. If white and gray aren't your style, work this up in a custom color combination that suits your personality. A series of repetitive double crochet stitches gives the look of the ripple stitch, which is simply stunning in this color palette. It's simple and neutral so it will work with many different decor elements, making it a great crochet afghan to give as a gift.

Hello. I am a little confused on the last stitch of the row. Do you go into the big chain loop or just the one little stitch?

The chart diagram with key is very much appreciated. I have been learning to crochet via diagram instead of written pattern because there are so many great patterns that I have found that are not in English. The chart diagrams are universal. This pattern even has a video tutorial. Thanks!

Here is my very first crochet project....ever what do you think? I used burgundy (purple plum) because the pale gray wasn't available at store. These colors work better in my living room. I have a friend who wants one with Clemson Tiger colors (orange, purple, and white) which I'll make when the yarn gets here.

Hi I'm very new to crocheting and I wanted to make this as my first big project Seems easy enough I crochet my initial chain of and then start I'm good with all the stitches and am being very careful with the counting and making sure I make the appropriate double crochets in the appropriate stitches The problem comes in when I am at the end of the first row Following the instructions and looking at the chart I'm supposed to do double crochets into the very last stitch however I never seem to have a last stitch to put the double crochets into before I can make the turn I've started over times now and never end up with that last stitch What could this mean Is the foundation row chain count really Could I maybe be accidentally skipping a stich somewhere I'm so confused right now with trying to…Read More figure out why I can't get the first row correct Can anyone help me Please and thank you

Hi! I'm so sorry that your first project is not going smoothly. I have not attempted this yet. Perhaps checking out the source may help. They also have a section for comments so you can ask the designer if you want. Good luck, Krista, Editor http://www.yarnspirations.com/patterns/grey-scale-blanket.html?id=198886

Hi everyone. Just a quick note that I have figured out my problem and am now well on my way on this project. I had to change one color because the pale gray wasn't available. I chose a burgundy to use as the main color (MC)...Vintage White for the A color, and the Dark Gray for the B color (which would have been the pale gray. I'll post up a photo when I'm finished. Thanks again for the link to the designer's site. That helped a lot. Christine

Doesn't seem to show two sizes, so why are there two amounts for the yarns? Example Dark Grey (10044) 3 (6) balls. Is it three balls or 6 balls. I would say 6 for a twin sized bed, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd like to make this but want to be sure and buy enough yarn. Thanks.

Hi there - I double checked the pattern on the Yarnspirations site, and they have just three balls per color listed in the supplies. This would make a bed that's approx. 52 x 65. I hope that helps! Julia, editor for AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns

Sorry, I'm confused about the colors and amount of yarn/ball for each. MC is what? Dark Grey (10044) 4 balls = Contrast A Vintage White (10006) 1 ball = Contrast B Pale Grey (10046) 1 ball = ?? This is a great pattern, and I love using Bernat Blanket, so my rating is not for poor pattern but my confusing on colors.

This a way of decreasing your stiches. You work 2 DC together as 1 stich, and 3 DC together as 1 stich. I hope this helps. Cheryl

Your blanket is beautiful. Could you tell me how many chains you started with and how many rows you made? This looks like it's on a full size bed. Is that correct? I'd like to get the size right to make one.
