I keep seeing both of these yarns listed on a lot of patterns, but what is the difference between worsted weight and Aran yarns? They must be two separate types or brands of yarn or they wouldnt be listed separately on all of these patterns I have seen. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

Hi! Worsted and Aran yarns aren't completely interchangeable but they tend to be grouped together because they are similar. Aran is more common in the UK and is slightly heavier than worsted. It can also be made of any fiber. Worsted is more common in the US. I hope this helps! -Krista, Editor
