- Size U.S. L/11 (8 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
Measurements: Approx 34" x 43" [86.5 x 109 cm].
Gauge: 9 sc and 10 rows = 4" [10 cm].
Instructions:
With A, ch 105.
1st row: (RS). 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 2 dc in each of next 2 ch. *(Skip next ch. 1 dc in next ch) 5 times. Skip next ch.** (2 dc in next ch) 6 times. Rep from * to last 14 ch. Rep from * to ** once. (2 dc in next ch) 3 times. Turn. 102 sts.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc to end of row, working last sc in top of ch 3. Join B. Turn.
3rd row: With B, ch 3 (counts as dc). Working in back loops only, 1 dc in first sc. 2 dc in each of next 2 sc. (Skip next sc. 1 dc in next sc) 5 times. *Skip next sc. (2 dc in next sc) 6 times. (Skip next sc.1 dc in next sc) 5 times. Rep from * to last 4 sc. Skip next sc. (2 dc in next sc) 3 times. Turn.
4th row: As 2nd row. Join A.
5th row: With A, as 3rd row.
6th row: As 2nd row.
7th to 18th rows: With B only, rep 3rd and 4th rows 6 times more, joining A at end of last row.
19th and 20th rows: With A, rep 5th and 6th rows.
Rep 7th to 20th rows until work from beg measures approx 38" [96.5 cm], ending on 20th row.
Next 2 rows: With B, rep 3rd and 4th rows.
Next 2 rows: With A, rep 5th and 6th rows. Fasten off.

I am confused this pattern the first row doesn't come out when I follow the pattern to the last 14 st there's not enough stitches to follow the pattern to the end. From the to the I need 12 stitches so I'm short one stitch am I doing something wrong.
