Using medium and bulky weight yarns, these patterns work up quickly and easily, showing you amazing results before you know it. If you are new to making afghans, this book is the perfect way to boost your confidence and get results more quickly than you would in a classic pattern.

This book features full color photos of each project, so before you start flipping through the pages you can check out the front page for an overview of the project photos. This way, you don't have to go searching for them, and can decide where you want to go instead of diving into the patterns blind. The Color Pop afghan on page 21 is my favorite of the nine patterns, and although the colors in the book do not mesh well with my home decor, this is a pattern that will look great in many different combinations. If it was me, I would work it up in greys and blues instead.

I wish the book had more patterns, but because of the ability to change colors in the patterns you might not need them. You can work up the same pattern in multiple different colors and it is like having five different blankets in your house. This idea is perfect for your daughter and her roommate at college, or if your children are buying their first homes or leasing new apartments. Nothing says home sweet home like a handmade afghan.
