So this is how the modern granny square looks like. It's the usual basic square but embellished with the ruffles on the sides. It's cute actually. I can't wait to try this.

This square reminds me of a baby bonnet, not sure how it would work up in an afghan... but part of the fun of crochet is.... finding out. Here we go...

I liked this one because it looked so old fashion. Like a ruffle bonnet or dress. I think I would alternate ruffle square and a plain square. Pink and white would just pop.
