Modern Houndstooth Patchwork Blanket

Statement pieces don't necessarily need to be large in size to have a big impact. The Modern Houndstooth Patchwork Blanket is the perfect example. Size U.S. H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Measurements: Approx 45" x 52” [114.5 x 132 cm].

Gauge: 13 sc and 14 rows = 4” [10 cm].

INSTRUCTIONS

Note:

When working with 2 colors in a row, carry color not in use across top of previous row and work sts around it.
To change colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of first color and draw new color through last 2 loops on hook and proceed.
Ch 3 at beg of row counts as dc throughout.

Edging: 1st rnd: (RS). With A, ch 1. Work 1 sc in each sc across top edge, 3 sc in corner, sc evenly down side edge, 3 sc in corner, sc evenly across foundation row, 3 sc in corner, sc evenly up side edge, 3 sc in corner. Join with sl st to first sc.
2nd and 3rd rnds: With A, ch 1. Work 1 sc in each sc around and 3 sc in each corner sc. Join C with sl st to first sc at end of 3rd rnd. Break A.
4th rnd: With C, ch 1. Work 1 sc in each sc around and 3 sc in each corner sc. Join with sl st to first sc.
5th rnd: Ch 1. Working from left to right, instead of from right to left as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each sc around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
