The Mount Vernon Blanket isn't just another granny square crochet afghan pattern. This vintage crochet afghan is unique in that the edging is not straight. Rather, it is almost "scalloped" and the granny squares are connected in a diagonal way. Add a crocheted border and you'll have a blanket you can curl up with by the fire.
