Dazzling Dragonfly Granny Square
For any nature-lover, this Dazzling Dragonfly Granny Square makes the perfect gift - as part of a granny square crochet blanket or even maybe on its own! This crochet square is a standard granny square, but it features a raised and textured little dragonfly motif on the top of it. Work this up in springy greens and blues as shown, but you can easily tailor this to the recipient's taste and favorite color. The body and tail of the dragonfly are made while crocheting the granny square, but the wings are added on later, once you're all done, so don't forget to make them!

I like to make granny squares because they work up quickly and it does not get boring. Sure it can be a pain putting them together but the result is usually very interesting and unique. I used to be scared of dragonflies but one of the native Americans where I used to live in Tucson, Az explained me the importance of dragonflies and how they always find clean water. Now I have a new found respect for them. Thanks for the pattern.

I really wish dragonflies were this color. They would not be so "offensive" if they were. Not that I am afraid of them, they can be a little intimidating. This is a dazzling granny square. I will be adding it to my ever growing granny square pattern. If I took the time to make every granny square I have saved, I could probably work for at least a year before I finished them all.

This could easily be an accent piece in a project or the main ingredient. I love the colors selected as they are vibrant and young. A perfect granny square for a Spring project like a new pillow to welcome in the fast approaching season.
