Old Glory American Flag Afghan
"The Old Glory American Flag Afghan makes a wonderful gift for a veteran or any patriotic person in your life---perhaps even yourself! This throw measures 36" x 62" and is designed to mimic an antique Betsy Ross version of the American Flag with its 13 stars and 13 stripes. The main body of the flag uses the Suzette Stitch to give it a wonderful, squishy texture. There is color changing involved (once per row) and only on the upper portion of the afghan and this is also covered in a photo tutorial."

Oh my, I love this Old Glory American Flag Afghan! After reading the story behind the pattern and the pattern it's self, I so want one! This would make a great Christmas gift for my son in law who is a Army vet. This is the best written pattern for a flag I have seen todate. With her pictures and written details I know anyone who wants can make this one! I'm looking forward to making this one. Thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

I really like this pattern. I have never heard of the "suzette" stitch before but I think it will make a nice difference. I wanted a flag pattern and I like this one because it an older design flag. I can see why she used Burgundy instead of traditional red. It is not as glaring as well as the "linen" color instead of pure white. Thank you for the pattern.
