What a delightful idea! I remember my children having the thin rubber mat version of this when they were growing up and if I'd have been into crochet then this would have made for a much, much better alternative! Wow! The cars are definitely an added bonus too!! I think I may make a larger one as a gift for grandkids one day. Maybe they'll find enjoyment in it the way their parents did!

I think this pattern is adorable! I never would have thought to make a blanket/toy combination and I love that the blogger calls it a "playnket." I should make this for my nephew!
