I think this is a great idea, too, but I havent been able to find a direct answer to your question about where to send any items that you make. I would suggest contacting your local shelters. If you do a search on ASPCA (Your local area) you should be directed to shelters in your area who work with the ASPCA. They should be able to tell you what items they need and how best to get them to there. Perhaps you may even decide to run a campaign in your area? That would be awesome!
