The yarns from Expression Fiber Arts are unlike all the other yarns out there. The colors are beautiful, the fibers are outrageous and there's not a single type of yarn that I don't like. Yak-Silk Lace is a fine example of pure fiber perfection.
Yak-Silk Lace is a fine combination of 50% yak down and 50% silk; this means the silk is lustrous, glowy mulberry silk. It'll keep you warm in the winter, yet cool in the summer. The yak fiber is amazing and helps make the yarn super soft; this combo is to die for! Each skein is 2-ply and 680 yards, which is a great amount of yardage; most lace weight skeins range from 500-800 yards a skein.
The yak down has amazing insulating properties, which allow animals to stay warm in the coldest temperatures, which will of course keep you nice and warm during those winter months. This yarn is stronger than wool, which will keep your crochet patterns looking like new for many years to come. With the shine from the silk fibers, all your projects will be the talk of the town. This yarn is durable, long lasting and come in bold, rich colors.
Because Yak-Silk is so creamy and beautiful to the touch, you must hand-wash all your projects. Whether you work up a crochet scarf or cowl, or work up a lacy crochet afghan intended to be the next family heirloom, you're going to be dreaming about this yarn. It truly is one of the best yarns to work with as it just slides through your fingers and is incredibly one of the softest yarns I've worked with.
